Humorous.

I've reviewed a couple of your films now and I DO like your style of large sketch/toon lines. I would, though, like to see something more detailed from you if not just to see if you can translate your ability to other genre's.

Anyway, I liked this one ok. I guess I'd say the vote it has now is about what it deserves. The clockcrew organization aint exactly my favorite folks so I found it kind of funny. Not laugh out loud funny, but amusing none the less. Mostly, I like how little work you were able to get away with and still have a flash worth watching.

TEH END

Ahhhhhh.

These are great to break the monotony of viewing vector graphics. I dig the series.

But I am sick of seeing reviews that repeatedly ask how it's done. I don't know how the authors here do it but it can be accomplished with the simplest and cheapest of the outdated QuickCam's. The software that comes with them has a stop motion option. I used to make little stop motion vid's with hotwheels using one - it ain't that hard.

What should be noted is not the tools used but the skill of the animator(s). Adjusting the surface of the water slightly for each frame and taking the time and effort to string up pieces that are being "thrown."

As far as frame rates... I'm viewing on a 600mhz laptop with 128mb's Ram and yes, it did chop up near the end - it forced the machine to start caching to the HD. However, I don't think theres an absolute need for a compressed version. Up to you from my stand point.

Now there's a review! I hope other people will read this.
Maybe we should make the movies around 40 sec.
With me its by the way the same, getting slow at the ending. We worked damn hard on this movie, and I can't even see it myself :) (not fluently anyways)
But thanx for the review!

One suggestion...

Watch Sealab 2021.

How the hell do you people get away with this?!?

This is basically 4 or 5 charecter poses - 1 background - a simply tweended dot and 3 sound effects!?! Yet I know you're going to get a more than decent score. Hell, I just voted you a more than decent score.

I hate you for getting away with it! You bastard!

...prolly make the daily 5 for christ sake...

Dumbass NG Users.

And the next morning, every radio personality across the country was talking about it.

If you can't watch it don't vote. Cus if your not voting high, you for damn sure didn't watch it.

This is great.

I like that you took the time to develop your own personal style toward what your "solid sticks" would look like. This is the first stick movie I've seen in a while that is comparable to the xiao series in quality. Great FBF. Don't keep us waiting on the next one.

Irony...

The graphics here were pretty good. Nice shading, nice motion.... Looks good.

And, though I knew I'd be missing out on an easy protection point - I blammed you.

Though this deserved a 2-3 on graphics you just had to go and toss in a full length uncompressed MP3. You've got 400k of animation and 3.6MB's of a song that plays 3 times longer then your animation.

Now, I actually connect via high speed Cable internet, so I didn't wait too long for this - but I won't litter the newgrounds servers with MB's and MB's of useless shit. Cut and compress the audio next time.

Very nice.

This is some excellent work. Very good FBF and great use of tweens. I hadn't caught the connection between the old black and white toon and this new one until the authors slapped me in the face with it. None the less it's nice to see something like this reborn in all it's beautifully shaded brilliance.

Personally, I didn't much like the underlying style of swirls but I still couldn't avoid tossing out a 5 for this.

See ya on the Top 50.

BenSpurgin responds:

I don't know what you have against swirls and swirl motifs, but I'm glad you caught it regardless.

Uh... Yeah.

You're going to want to up the frame rate in forthcoming submissions. And try doing your fbf with a little more attention toward maintaining flow with previous frames. It feels very choppy and when you start animating the action sequences your going to have a hard time maintaining quality of motion if this is the standard. Words words words.

It's great and all... but

Are you aware that you drew a star inside the crescent moon? ;)

My fish is not dead. My fish is alive. This is NOT in my head!
