One thing to bind them all...

Oddly - though there appears no specific theme set for this colaborative work it seemed like the unintentionally common veign here was pretention and self glorification.

Aside from J_smooth's submission(which itself was kind of weak despite the architecture work for the opening stills) each of these submissions has at least a little 'ego gone running' in it. Rock stars and neo-nazi's - not that either of those are specifically bad ;) I'm only criticizing the need to put these things out for all to view; the need to be recognized for them; the desperate search for attention.

To seperate one from the mix - Dawg's work was the best. Nice insanity, great fbf style, I just wish you would've avoided the whole: "hate," "evil," "death," "grrr," thing. It's a transparent seeking of kewl points for being a dark, sinister, or brooding soul. (Cast off thine image and let be)
Anyway, if you let the darkness within set the tone and background of your work instead of bringing it to the forefront you'll produce much better pieces.

Valient effort by all. Keep turning them out.
Suggestion for all: Be more obtuse.

J-Smooth responds:

Dawg gives his thanks.

Still going?!?

I had no idea you were still turning out George Man episodes. I love this series... Don't get me wrong, I could go on for 15 minutes about the flaws... but I can't get enough of this series.

It's so tongue-in-cheek with the humor -- It's great. I'm mezmorized by the authors complete lack of coherity when it comes to animating this. FBF'ing one action and then doing some awful tweening on the next only to do some excellent tweening in the following scene. I love it. It's like the creativity is being pushed, shoved, and beaten out however it'll go through the door. Whatever ends up on the otherside goes to print.

(It almost sounds like I'm criticizing... Honestly, I love this series - keep up with it)

george-kelly-johnson responds:

wow, thanks for being a fan... prolly one of the few that i have ;)
lol

well get ready for more different stuff, cuz in episode 11 i redid all the characters... again... lmao

Lets disagree to agree.

It's a cute little animation and I liked the style. There was a level of smoothness in the motion tweens that I don't see often - nice job on animating it. The ClockCrew part was mildly amusing and done well also.

Now to the point: In case anyone was wondering or doesn't know, or perhaps had just forgotten how to percieve correctly...

That song.... is shit.

I hope I've cleared that up for everyone.
...Your welcome...

Sincerely,

Sincere

AsthmaticHamster responds:

Lol !
Well, thanks for the good review !
And if you think that song is shit, well it's not my rpoblem, cause I liked it !
But tkz anyway ! ;)

He's Got Christmas Eyes!

Pretty nice little submission. I wish more "first submissions" were this good. Keep it up - learn more.

RegisCartoons responds:

Yeah, I know that you mean bay saying "He's Got Christmas Eyes". Now I know how to make twinking random. I'm learning. Thanks

Excellent.

This is some great fbf and an excellent way of spinning the aging DBZ genre into something new and worthwhile.

I especially liked the way you did the fully framed exploding landscape shots. Very stylistic.

There is room for improvement in the character shots. You either need to do more inbetweening(time consuming, I know) or simply work on getting the few frames you have more similar to each other. This suggestion is specifically for the choppier moments.

Actually makes me think you might have done this with a mouse instead of a tab. If that's true... well... damn, man... damn! ;)

Katoblade responds:

I drew everything with a mouse lol

thanx for the review

Great artwork - Two problems.

Though the artwork is great there are two main problems with this Ranma spinoff that make it completely unlike the original.

1. This, unlike Ranma, was actually funny and worth watching.

2. In this flash version, the lips were actually somewhat synced - completely counter to the real cartoon.

;) Anyhow, great artwork - and pretty funny to boot. Good job.

Dekathos responds:

Woah. That was a first. Thanks for the review.

Not bad.

Using flash 4, eh? Well... Whatever you have access to, I suppose.

Anyhow... This piece was pretty good. The charecters were well drawn and some time was taken to make lip movements look semi-synced. Theres a lot of room for improvement but altogether it's pretty good.

Suggestions: Basically, all I would say is continue to mess with different styles in flash. Play with shading techniques and try to avoid using the shape tools(making a wall or building with the box tool tends to look pretty hacky).

Spend more time on your backgrounds - maybe draw up a few more poses for each charecter so they look more animated.

But, like I say, really all this artist needs is time to develop a more expansive relationship with the techniques and capabilities of Flash.

Friz responds:

Episode 6 and 7 (the finale) are made with Flash MX. This is my first attempt at a series, and hopefully it will be recognised as one at Newgrounds... *hint*...

Finally...!

This is an excellent short. The best I've seen in a while. And just to be clear, let's run down the list of why it's a good short.
(Maybe some of you can learn something)

Fluent animation, excellent quality audio, low compressed file size, a mainly original concept, and apt use of personal artistic style. Oh... and of coarse - mentioning Sealab 2021 in the comments. I'm so happy to find that I'm not the only one who enjoys that show, I may have given this piece a 5 just for that.

raitendo responds:

hehe, I was just watching Sealab, I love it, it's even better than Space Ghost & Birdman - Attorney at Law. Adult Swim forever!

Awwwwwwww... isn't that: stupid.

I actually had to watch it twice because I couldn't understand why anyone would make a movie about members of the clock crew joining together in pursuit of Cake.

Of coarse, once I realized this was the end of the movie I couldn't help laughing at it's uselessness.

Plus I liked the style of the lines - not unlike Dr. Katz were it played at 50fps?

dandandan4 responds:

UHH LYKE.. KTHXBAI.

Love & Life: 2 Very SEPERATE Things

Firstly...: Ugh.

Middlely...: Less bruding, more animating.

Lastly...: Love to live? No we don't.

Avengerlll responds:

Ha, what do we live for? Do we live to live? Do we live to die? Hmm I don’t really thing this question is really answerable, is it? Well thanks for looking at it, sorry my pain cant entertain you, maybe if i get shot ill make a flash youll like. But until then this is all i got.

My fish is not dead. My fish is alive. This is NOT in my head!
