Good & Great

Great artwork. The artist has a real sense of timing and style. The shading and flash "effects" are excellent and well used.

The creator of this piece definitely has a knack for turning a simple angled shot into a grandeous event. Also did very well using tweens to get a framed feel.

Bloody Taco!

Ahhh - Yummy bloody goodness all wrapped up in toon sounds. Now that's got fiber!

Must of been one hell of an accident for this to take second place instead of first on the daily. No worries, though. Soon this piece shall take it's rightful thrown atop the NG front page.

Where's my taquitos?

My taquitos?! My Taquitos!!? MY TAQUITOS!!!?!!!?

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

.fire the walnuts.

Great artwork - Two problems.

Though the artwork is great there are two main problems with this Ranma spinoff that make it completely unlike the original.

1. This, unlike Ranma, was actually funny and worth watching.

2. In this flash version, the lips were actually somewhat synced - completely counter to the real cartoon.

;) Anyhow, great artwork - and pretty funny to boot. Good job.

Woah. That was a first. Thanks for the review.

Damn fine work.

The more I watched the more I liked it. There's a lot of good stuff here. You've just got to be persistent to find it all.

One of the funniest things of all is that our main charecter keeps pulling controllers out of his ass. HAHA! (Unintended I'm sure.)

Nice imagery.

This is definately one to watch in "Low Quality" mode. Too many transparent layers to watch it in all it's smooth edged, well shaded glory.

This was a great action sequence featuring a healthy mix of tweens and fbf. My favorite shot would have to be the sunset / bamboo silhouette shot. Very impactful with lots of contrast.

Sully's got a great sense of style.

Not bad.

Using flash 4, eh? Well... Whatever you have access to, I suppose.

Anyhow... This piece was pretty good. The charecters were well drawn and some time was taken to make lip movements look semi-synced. Theres a lot of room for improvement but altogether it's pretty good.

Suggestions: Basically, all I would say is continue to mess with different styles in flash. Play with shading techniques and try to avoid using the shape tools(making a wall or building with the box tool tends to look pretty hacky).

Spend more time on your backgrounds - maybe draw up a few more poses for each charecter so they look more animated.

But, like I say, really all this artist needs is time to develop a more expansive relationship with the techniques and capabilities of Flash.

Friz responds:

Episode 6 and 7 (the finale) are made with Flash MX. This is my first attempt at a series, and hopefully it will be recognised as one at Newgrounds... *hint*...

Not quite front age material

I like it - the story line - the inplay of role playing style spells and charecters - but it's not quite front page material.
Obviously the graphics aren't the best and many of the sound effects are standard overused online FX - still I like the innocence of the artists rendition. Not too amazing with the artistry but he got his story on the screen and found a starting point.
Also, there is promise here - some of the faces were well drawn and well shaded. If the artist simply learns some new flash techniques and takes more time on the graphics, we could see some great stuff.
My suggestions: try playing with the line size of the silhouettes of your charecters in respect to the lines used for internal lines and facial features. Also, get away from the gradient shading - You can use it here and there but too much makes it look hacky.
Overall -- I like it. 'Nuff said.

Give me a dollar.

Those who think drugs are bad are close minded morons. Those who think drugs are good are wasted loser junkies.

So you can all eat shit. HAHAHAHA!

Finally!

The truth comes out! Long live the Ameritocracy. Long live the Society. Long live the Illuminati. Lengthy death to those who would chose to do more with their lives than suckle at the tit of the so-called free media. We will rule the world under a single dollar, a single religeon, and a single token figure head oriented regime.

God Bless America.
